Galkin Honored With PRN® Pharmacal Veterinary Technician Award

As the hospital’s Nursing Supervisor, Galkin is committed to professional development for herself and her teammates. “Ashley sought outside certifications and completed dozens of leadership centric RACE modules,” said Hospital Manager and nominator Lynn Blake. “She revitalized the onboarding and training plans at our hospital and began to work on strengthening her business acumen to push herself into new levels of management. She serves as a teacher, mentor, and leader for her fellow technicians. Ashley does all of this while being a single parent to three children, two of whom she homeschools, bringing the same positivity, dedication, and leadership to every part of her life.”

Galkin also brings a valuable and unique skill set to the hospital. “Ashley is one of our highest skilled veterinary technicians,” Blake said, “and as one of two ERs in our whole state, sometimes she is one of the only people available in our whole state able to perform certain skills, like central lines, ASA IV–V anesthesia, critical table cases, etc. Because Ashley is so well respected and liked by our team, she is often being grabbed by veterinary assistants and newer CVTs to coach them on new skills.”
